One more day until Blood Ties officially comes out. I should have put that officially in quotes. I suppose I should have done it again… but now I’m just messing with you. The reason I should have done what I should have done twice is that the eBook is actually available now. You can get a digital copy of Blood Ties this very second, and you can do it with this link.
The reason I’m letting the cat out of the bag (at least one paw) is that I just read through the seven reviews already posted to Amazon, and I’m sort of high on what they had to say. As I said before, I’d sent ARCs to some of the initial beta readers as well as some volunteers from my FB page. I had no idea what they would say about the book, but I figured there’d be some good and some bad. After all, not everyone reads western steampunk epic fantasy and likes it. I’m not sure anyone has actually read it before now (although someone probably has), so there really isn’t much basis for comparison.
What I’m jazzed about is that every single reviewer thus far has been so generous with their appreciation of the book. Deep down, I know that statistically speaking at least some of those reviewers would end up blowing sunshine in my direction. I get that completely. But the reviews out there right now defy those odds…. blow them right out of the water.
I worked hard on this book, and I’ll be working even harder to wrap up the whole six-book series. But nothing prepared me for this. So, what I’m realy saying is that I wanted to thank each and every beta reader, whether they get to reading the book or not, simply because they were willing to offer a helping hand. What I’ve gotten from that initial generosity has been incalculably wonderful, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
It’s just as I said to Patrick Hester a few weeks ago, I’m REALLY SO VERY FORTUNATE.
Thanks to you all!
