Josh and I just finished up Dallas Fan X, and it was a great show. The WordFire Press booth kicked butt once again, and we had a TON of happy customers who took home great books, free autographs (as always), and–invariably–a smile. I gotta admit, there are times when running the warehouse, loading the truck, driving cross country, and doing the shows is exhausting. But no matter how I look at it, I really do enjoy what I do. Things have even taken a turn for the better in recent months, and there’s considerably less stress and hurdles to cross.n (P.S. I swapped books with Martinez, and I bet him that he’d find a story in Blood Ties, or I’d have to give him a bottle of scotch.)
As usual, we had some great writers in the booth. There was Kevin J. Anderson, of course, and the guest authors included Rachel Caine, C.T. Adams, and A. Lee Martinez. We had guest-editor David Afsharirad as well. And then from the WordFire stable there was myself and the inestimable D.J. Butler. Add to that a fantastic volunteer crew, and we couldn’t help but knock this one out of the park.
I even got to play a little this time around. There was the photo shoot with the battle axe and the rancor, a couple of great panels (“Strong Female Characters and Writing 101”), and I got to spend a little time with several voice actresses, which was a special treat… talk about smart, classy ladies!
So, to celebrate such a great convention, we’ve decided to spur on the pre-order sales of “Blood Curse” by lowering the eBook price of “Blood Ties” to 99 cents on Amazon.
If you’re in the mood for a steampunk-fantasy cross-over that has great action, fantastic characters, and a “Cowboys & Aliens” feel to it, there couldn’t be a better time to discover The Blood War Chronicles.
Right now, you can get books 1 and 2 in digital format for only $6.98. That’s 150,000 words for $7.00, which is a hell of a deal no matter how you slice it.
And if you pick up either book, I hope you enjoy it enough to leave a review on Amazon!
Cheers!
