A newly promoted Corporal of the merc company Hu’s Hawks invites Max Freison and the rest of his squad of fresh Privates to the Lyon’s Den to start a new tradition: tell a tale and make a point about why mercs get paid. Mercs die, it’s never personal, and they all have the same job to do.
The story the corporal tells brings the new squad together in understanding of the stakes and the sacrifice.
