What started out as a large, heavy-duty file is now a 19″ long knife with a fantasy style. The grip is leather-wrapped black walnut with a tsuka-ito-style wrap around that. The blade is 12″ with a brass guard and pommel polished to a high sheen. With a balance point just beneath the guard, this weapon floats in the hand and begs to be swung.
