This commission French Chef was for a friend’s husband and was a tricky project. Working with copper inserts was a lesson in how some metals expand quickly and can beat the hell out of carbide bits. The dyed and stabilized wood was from a Lithuanian vendor, and I could not have been happier with how it turned out. The mottled patterns of red, black, and yellow really gave this one a lot of character. The blade is 15N20 to provide greater corrosion resistance, and it polished up to a beautiful sheen.
