My wife has small hands and sometimes finds it hard to cut thick veggies and meats with the standard chef knife she prefers. I decided to cross a chef with an uluk and see how it worked. It’s a thicker steel (derived from a 24″ sawmill blade), and we’re still working through how well (or not) it will work in her hands.
This is a prototype, and in a future iteration, I’ll probably use thinner stock and shorten the point a bit, but when a heavy-duty cutting/chopping job presents itself, this is my go-to.
