As I mentioned last week, I’m using my SIGI (Sentient Intelligence Gathering Insect) storyline as my first trial on WattPad, a social writing website. The purpose is two fold. Naturally, I want to expose more folks to my writing, but I also want to see what sort of contributions readers in WattPad can make to a storyline. Is there value in having readers’ suggestions about characters, world building, plot arc? I think there is, which is why I was so excited to learn about Wattpad in the first place.
On top of everything else, I think WattPad is a perfect place for the episodic nature of SIGI. I have envisioned eventually converting each chapter or episode into an anime series presented on YouTube. Of course, to do that, I’ll need some help, but that’s a topic for another discussion. On top of that, I need find an artist who can create a new fly for the cover at some point. What I used for this first cover is off the web. The site I got it from said it was free artwork for use on the web, but before I ever take this thing to the next level, I’ll need a snazzy, new robotic insect.
Anyway, the draft of Chapter Two is up and ready for your review if you like tongue-in-cheek AI Sci-Fi with super spies, espionage, conspiracies, and (eventually) big explosions. This next episode has a few good wise-cracks in it, so come on over and check it out. The chapters come in really small bites, so what have you got to loose? Read one while you’re drinking your coffee in the morning.
Happy Reading!
